Wastra is the legacy of nation culture, stated as a symbol of originality, local art culture, the beginning of modernity. We are not talking Wastra as a traditional product, Wastra is an art, master piece of Indonesia culture that we need to own and preserve and increase its value.
This is our responsibility to sustain the humanity, sustain the nation culture.
Art will sustain if life sustaining. The idea is to create demand by adding value to our Wastra. Making it into up-to-date fashion product that have more value.
It will give Wastra Artist a chance to get more income.
We are in the era of everything is possible. But People cannot survive by produce 1 piece of Wastra in 1 month and selling it 800k Rupiah.
Their kids will see no future for them if they continue the legacy from their parents.
Most of irresponsible and commercial modern fashion – in the name of business margin – stealing the design, produce in factory, sell in any price (depend on the fabric type), without any single rupiah goes to artist who own the intellectual property.
